In 1995, Sandi was managing a bustling barn filled with 36 horses, each with its own personality and needs. As Halloween approached, she wanted to give these magnificent animals a treat worthy of their loyalty. Late into the evenings, she experimented in her kitchen, mixing ingredients, testing recipes, and tirelessly working to create the perfect snack. After much trial and error, she crafted what would become her signature recipe—a treat horses simply couldn’t resist. Made with wholesome grains and just the right touch of molasses, these treats quickly became a favorite among the horses in her care.
From Passion Project to Beloved Brand
What began as a small, personal project quickly transformed. Word of these delicious treats spread, and soon Sandi found herself enlisting friends and family to keep up with the growing demand. Her passion, innovation, and commitment to quality resonated with horse owners far and wide, and Stud Muffins® was born. Each batch was handmade with the same care and attention she had shown in those early days, ensuring that every treat was a reflection of her love for horses.

A Journey of Dedication and New Leadership
Lauren’s connection to Stud Muffins® began long before she officially joined the company. At just 9 years old, she was one of the many friends enlisted to help in 1995, working weekends and sharing in the challenges and triumphs. For years, they made the treats out of Sandi’s garage, using equipment crafted by family members.
In 2016, Lauren formally joined the company, and during this time, Sandi expressed her hope that Lauren would continue the brand’s legacy. They worked closely together in Sandi’s final years, with Sandi passing on her wealth of knowledge. Today, Lauren is honored to carry the torch, driven by a desire to make Sandi proud and ensure that Stud Muffins® remains a brand built on love, passion, and quality. Though we are small, each member of our team is deeply committed to the company’s success and the vision that Sandi entrusted to us.
